Looking for an opportunity to study in France? Here’s one for you! The French Institutes for Advanced Study is offering thirty-seven outstanding students the 37 FIAS Study Award Fellowship in France 2022.

The scholarship grant is specifically open to applicants in disciplines in the social sciences and the humanities (SSH), and all research fields for the 2023/24 academic session.

About FIAS Study Award Fellowship:

The FIAS fellowship program supports high-quality and innovative research as fellows conduct their research with the greatest freedom and benefit from the strong scientific and extra-academic support by the institutes. Initiated in 2020, the FIAS Fellowship program will run until the 2024-2025 academic year.

The six French Institutes for Advanced Study of Aix-Marseille, Loire Valley (Orléans-Tours), Lyon, Montpellier, Nantes, and Paris teamed up to propose a unified and simplified entry point to their much-coveted scientific residencies.

 

Degree Level:

PhD

Selection Criteria:

FIAS study awards fellowships to outstanding researchers of all career levels, from doctoral researchers to senior scholars. The minimum requirement is a PhD + 2 years of research experience at the time of the application. Exceptions will be made for scholars with a Master’s + 6 years of full-time research experience after the degree (PhD training will not be considered in the calculation of experience).

The six IAS are open to all disciplines in the Humanities and Social Sciences.

Perks:

All IAS will provide common standards, including the provision of a living allowance (2,700€ per month), social security coverage, accommodation, a research and training budget, plus coverage of travel expenses.
