Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State has reacted to his suspension by a faction of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ekiti State.
The Governor, by way of his Chief Press Secretary, described the suspension as a joke taken too far.
DAILY POST reported earlier that Fayemi was suspended by the State Government Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
His suspension was confirmed in a press release signed by eight members of the chief committee on Friday.
They’re Senator Tony Adeniyi, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Senator Dayo Adeyeye, Congressman Bimbo Daramola, Hon Robinson Ajiboye, Hon Oye Ojo, Hon (Dr) Adewale Omirin and Hon Femi Adeleye.
In his response to the purported suspension of Governor Kayode @kfayemi by an unknown group, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Yinka Oyebode, described it as a joke taken too far.
Oyebode mentioned the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a celebration is ruled by legal guidelines, including that members of the group can not conceal underneath their current suspension to announce a doubtful suspension they lack the locus to deal with.
